In Spring 2026 five Temple faculty members, the Faculty Learning Community on Teaching and Learning with A.I., met regularly to develop a set of sample materials for faculty attempting to incorporate AI into their courses or the first time.
- Gary Blau, Professor of Management at the Fox School of Business, used A.I. to develop a more robust approach to role-playing (docx) in his Critical Skills for Effective Managers course. You can also read about his thought process (docx) for this work.
- Rob Faunce, Associate Professor of English in the College of Liberal arts, combined mindmapping techniques and AI (pptx) to scaffold students toward success in his First Year Writing class. You can also read his thoughts (docx) about this experiment.
- Ryan McKee, Assistant Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the College of Public Health, helps prepare his undergraduates for using A.I. as a thinking partner (docx) in their career. Like many of us, he is still grappling with concerns (docx) about the use of A.I. even as he attempts to prepare his student for A.I.-powered workplaces.
- Ksenia Power, Assistant Professor of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the College of Public Health, uses A.I. for lesson planning! You can check out an example (docx) and her thoughts (docx) on this work.
- Christopher Wheldon, Associate Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the College of Public Health, has created a Chatbot Design activity (docx) for students
We congratulate these faculty members on their hard work and their willingness to share their materials with their colleagues! If you have any questions about any of the downloads you can reach out directly to the faculty member or reach out to one of the CAT facilitators of the group, Jenn Zaylea and Jeff Rients.
