Teaching in Higher Education Certificate
Since 2010, Temple’s Teaching in Higher Education Certificate, offered in partnership with the College of Education and Human Development, has helped individuals deepen their knowledge of teaching while developing their identities as educators. Participants develop a teaching philosophy and course materials, explore sound learning design, learn how to engage students and promote inclusivity, and much more. Students complete two courses: EPSY 8985, Teaching in Higher Education Seminar and EPSY 8960, Innovation, Technology, and Teaching in Higher Education.

Online Teaching Institute
The Online Teaching Institute (OTI) is one of the signature programs at the Center for the Advancement of Teaching. This institute is designed to support Faculty and TAs in developing evidence-based practices that promote student learning in an online environment. The OTI is a three-week course led by CAT instructors where participants have the opportunity to discuss and learn from other faculty members, with an expected time commitment of about 5 hours per week. The course is asynchronous and does not require live meetings. Upon completing the course, participants will receive a Letter of Completion and a Credly badge.

Advanced Online Teaching Institute
The Advanced Online Teaching Institute (AOTI) is designed to support both moderately-experienced and highly-experienced online instructors in evaluating and improving their online course design using Universal Design for Learning principles. The course is recommended for intermediate to advanced levels, and while there is no prerequisite, it is recommended that participants take the OTI first. The AOTI consists of twenty hours of instruction over four weeks, with an expected time commitment of about 5 hours per week. The course is asynchronous and does not require live meetings. Upon completing the course, participants will receive a Letter of Completion and a Credly badge.

Annual Faculty Conference on Teaching Excellence
This annual two-day event features nationally recognized speakers; workshops, posters and lightning talks on topics covering a wide range of disciplinary contexts and teaching modalities; and lots of opportunities to meet and learn from your fellow faculty. All are welcome!

STEM Educators' Lecture
Each spring the CAT hosts the STEM Educators' Lecture, an interactive workshop featuring a speaker who is advancing the field of STEM pedagogy through their research and/or practice. While STEM-focused, faculty and teaching assistants from all disciplines are welcome.
