The Provost's Teaching Academy (PTA) is an intensive summer faculty development program where participants study topics such as human learning and adult development, integrated course design and assessment, and teaching methods that promote engagement and collaboration.
PTA members are a diverse, interdisciplinary group of faculty members and academic administrators who support excellent teaching at Temple in various ways. They serve as instructors and mentors for graduate students completing Temple's Teaching in Higher Education Certificate. Some PTA members apply their knowledge to leadership and mentoring roles within the university. PTA members also support the mission of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, facilitating faculty development workshops, leading sessions at the Annual Faculty Conference on Teaching Excellence, and consulting with colleagues to enhance their pedagogy.
The first Academy took place in the summer of 2009. Read the featured story.
Applications for the next co-hort will be available in Spring 2025.
