Creating Digitally Accessible Materials
A guided asynchronous course
This two-week guided asynchronous course for instructors will provide all the information and tools necessary to make your courses accessible and inclusive to all students! In this course, you will explore the POUR framework (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust) and apply the digital accessibility guidelines required under Title II of the ADA to the content you use every day. We’ll cover the foundations of accessibility, then dive into the particular accessibility requirements of a wide range of course materials, from documents to videos, with opportunities for you to work on your own course materials. Participants will leave the course with a deeper understanding of digital accessibility, the skills and knowledge needed to create and remediate digital content, and an accessibility action plan for updating their materials. Participants can expect to spend approximately five hours per week to complete the course.
Faculty who complete all modules of this course will receive the Digital Accessibility Micro-Credential.

Accessibility Series: A 3-part Workshop
Offered online and in-person
This 3-part synchronous online Accessibility Series will provide all the information and tools necessary to make your courses accessible! Using the POUR framework for accessibility (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust), the CAT team will lead you through all of the new requirements for accessibility that will make our campus more inclusive. This hands-on intensive will give you the information and practice you need to become comfortable making your digital materials accessible. Included also will be training on accessibility checkers available to faculty to support creation and remediation of digital materials.
Faculty completing all three parts of the Accessibility Series will receive the Digital Accessibility Micro-Credential.

Accessible Teaching Essentials
1-hour workshops offered online and in-person
Accessible Teaching Essentials workshops give instructors the core skills needed to make their teaching materials accessible to all learners. Each one-hour, standalone workshop focuses on a different material type, including Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoint slides, and complex visuals such as charts, graphs, and diagrams, covering the key elements that affect accessibility, from structure and formatting to alt text and color contrast, grounded in WCAG 2.1 guidelines. Sessions include hands-on practice so participants can apply what they learn directly to their own materials. Instructors will leave with practical, actionable steps for improving the accessibility of their course content. Each workshop is a great refresher for those with prior CAT accessibility training and a solid first step for those just getting started.
