New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation at Temple University provides incoming faculty with resources to support their roles and opportunities to connect with fellow new full-time faculty members and current colleagues from various schools and colleges. This event, hosted by the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, is held annually during the week before the Fall Semester begins. All new full-time faculty will receive an invitation in mid-summer.

The morning session introduces offices and programs that support research, wellness, campus engagement, and more. Attendees will interact with experienced faculty from Temple’s schools and colleges and explore the university’s main campus.

In the afternoon, programming focuses on evidence-based teaching practices, emphasizing strategies for serving Temple’s diverse student body. A panel of colleagues who provide student support services will also share information on available resources. An optional campus tour will be provided (weather permitting) for those looking to become acquainted with Temple’s Main Campus.

By the end of New Faculty Orientation, participants will have the knowledge and tools needed to confidently begin their work at Temple. For more information regarding this event, please reach out to .
