What is the Makerspace?
The Loretta C. Duckworth Scholar Studio’s Makerspace is an exciting, open-access hub packed with cutting-edge physical technologies and creative tools just waiting for you to explore! The studio features tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, VR headsets, soldering stations, and so much more, this space is perfect for bringing your ideas to life—whether you’re diving into research, developing course activities, or just in the beginning stages of exploring tools for a new project. It’s a collaborative environment where makers of all kinds come together to share knowledge, learn new skills, and create amazing things. Come unleash your creativity and level up your digital expertise!
The Makerspace offers an annual grant to faculty to help support the integration of Makerspace tools into course design. This can be in the way of content delivery and/or creating assignments that encourage students to interact with the Makerspace and the tools available to them.
