Julie has been teaching at Temple in a full-time capacity since 2006 and has 40 years of experience in the fields of Special Education and Teacher Preparation. Julie works with colleagues in the College of Education and Human Development on course development and coordination, curriculum and programming, mentoring Teaching Assistants and Teaching Apprentices, and student advising. Julie is the coordinator of our New M.Ed./SPED online program which includes collaboration with the Office of Digital Education and faculty to develop/oversee courses as part of this program and advises all students in the program. Julie has taught in traditional classrooms, lecture halls, hybrid formats, and online environments. Before joining the Special Education faculty at Temple, Julie taught as lead teacher in Special Education classrooms servicing diverse students across disability categories, age levels, and educational settings.
Julie holds a B.S.Ed. in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware (Newark, DE), an M.Ed. in Special Education with emphasis on Teaching Students with Low Incidence Disabilities from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA), and a Ph.D. From Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) with emphasis on Evidence-Based Practices in Inclusive Educational Settings.
