As an Assistant Director of Online and Digital Learning at the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Emtinan collaborates with Temple teaching community to enhance teaching and learning online and promote the integration of educational technology. In her role, she facilitates sessions on online teaching and learning as well as teaching with technology to foster students engagement and learning. Additionally, Emtinan oversees the Annual Teaching Assistant (TA) orientation, organizes book studies and faculty learning communities, and provides consultations on all matters related to online education and educational technology. She also leads the Online Teaching Institute and the Advanced Online Teaching Institute. Emtinan is dedicated to leveraging technology and to design effective learning experiences that are equitable for all learners.

Emtinan earned her doctoral degree in Instructional Technology and Leadership from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and earned her master’s degree in Digital Technologies, Communication and Education from The University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Emtinan continues to present her work at conferences, publish her research, and currently serves as a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Online Learning Journal (OLJ) and International Journal of Information and Communication Technology Education (IJICTE). Emtinan received the first-place 2019 Division of Distance Learning Award in the quantitative research category from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
