The Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT) promotes the value and practice of excellent teaching, teaching that facilitates student learning and growth. CAT’s programs and resources support evidence-based teaching and provide opportunities for faculty and TAs to learn from the experience and expertise of their colleagues.

This location has on-site consultation services for curricular, pedagogical or educational technology needs, as well as a drop-in educational technology lab. The lab provides walk-in assistance on educational technology needs or independent access to the lab’s computers, printers and scanners. Our EdTech Specialists are here to assist with educational technology tools, including Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, PollEverywhere and VoiceThread. We also host in-person workshops at this location.

For faculty who teach on Ambler campus, the CAT provides a convenient and comfortable workspace on the third floor of the Ambler Learning Center with extended hours.

This location provides a workspace for faculty with independent access to the lab’s computers, printers and scanners, as well as a comfortable space for focused reading or writing. There are no CAT staff on site, but faculty can access support through the virtual CAT listed below.
CAT Virtual Drop-In EdTech Lab
Starting Spring '25 Open Monday through Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
The Virtual Drop-in EdTech lab is available online via Zoom. The virtual lab is staffed by our educational technology specialists during our regular business hours and is especially helpful for last-minute questions, support when setting up learning activities using an educational technology tool, or when you get stuck while using educational technology tools.
