Stephanie Laggini Fiore, Ph.D.

Assistant Vice Provost, Center for the Advancement of Teaching

As Assistant Vice Provost of the CAT, Stephanie Fiore sees her role as one of advocating for and facilitating excellence in teaching by supporting faculty in implementing evidence-based teaching practices.  In addition, she is a proponent of the importance of sharing our best practices through the scholarship of teaching and learning. In collaboration with schools, colleges, departments, and faculty, Stephanie seeks to make an impact on student learning outcomes as well as on faculty career satisfaction.

Stephanie has 30 years of teaching experience, having taught courses in Italian language, literature and culture, as well as honors and general education courses, and graduate seminars in pedagogy. In addition, she has worked with faculty as mentor and program head, both in the Italian department and at the Intensive English Language Program. As an administrator, she has served as section head of the Italian program, area coordinator in the General Education program, Associate Director at the CAT and Director of the Intensive English Language Program before returning to the CAT as Senior Director. Stephanie earned her Ph.D. in Italian from Rutgers University.
