Stephanie Laggini Fiore, Ph.D.

Associate Vice Provost, Center for the Advancement of Teaching

As Associate Vice Provost of the CAT, Stephanie Fiore provides leadership, vision, and advocacy for evidence-based teaching and curricular practices that support more equitable outcomes, increased student success and retention, and rich, meaningful learning experiences for our diverse student population, and sharing those practices through the scholarship of teaching and learning.  In collaboration with schools, colleges, departments, and faculty, Stephanie seeks to catalyze educational transformation that makes an impact on student learning outcomes as well as on faculty career satisfaction.

Stephanie has 35 years of teaching experience, having taught courses in Italian language, literature and culture, as well as honors and general education courses, and graduate seminars in pedagogy. In addition, she has worked with faculty as mentor and program head, both in the Italian department and at the Intensive English Language Program. Before taking leadership of the CAT, her administrative roles included director of the Italian program, area coordinator in the General Education program, and Director of the Intensive English Language Program.Stephanie earned her Ph.D. in Italian from Rutgers University.
