The Center for the Advancement in Teaching invites full-time faculty members to apply for the 2019 Provost's Teaching Academy (PTA). Since 2009, the PTA has provided the opportunity for some of Temple's best and most committed educators and university leaders to have rich, cross-disciplinary conversations about the literature on how people learn and best teaching practices. With each new cohort of members, faculty with this increased teaching expertise impact the educational culture at Temple University. There are currently over 150 PTA faculty from across the university, representing a wide range of departments and academic units.
PTA faculty read literature on teaching and learning, participate in thought-provoking discussions with faculty from across the university, and think about how they can implement and support great teaching at Temple University. PTA faculty members receive a $2,000 stipend* and course texts in recognition of their investment of time and energy. (*Faculty at professional schools who are on 12-month contracts participate every year in PTA, but are not able to be compensated with a stipend.)
The 2019 Provost's Teaching Academy will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am until 12 noon during the Summer 1 session from May 14th - June 20th.
