In this two-part workshop, we will discuss and demonstrate best practices for managing and facilitating synchronous online classes. Session 1 will focus on creating community in your live sessions and establishing class environment, participation, and netiquette expectations for your students. Session 2 will focus on specific active learning and formative assessment activities for synchronous sessions and will explore online tools for polling, brainstorming, and collaborative learning, as well as strategies for facilitating whole class and breakout room activities.
