12% of Temple’s student body identify as Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI). This session provides a space for us to learn more about our AAPI students and ways we can create more welcoming and supportive learning environments. Education about AAPI histories and experiences can help us fight the rise in anti-Asian bias, stereotyping, and violence we witnessed throughout the pandemic, and promote a more inclusive university community. We will share resources at Temple, including information about a new Gen Ed course, along with effective teaching practices that can help us create inclusive classrooms and courses.
This workshop is co-sponsored by the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL).
