Can We Really Talk? Experiential Learning As a Method For Understanding Anti-Racism in a Global Context: Temple University’s Global X Program

November 30, 2022 - 3:00pm to 4:30pm
Hosted online via Zoom

Experiential learning has been one of the most effective teaching methods for creating and enhancing students’ abilities to understand concepts of social justice and develop an anti-racisist lens in their thinking. Join us to learn about the Global X program, which took students to South Africa to gain a better understanding of racism and gentrification by conducting a comparative analysis of the South African Apartheid system and racialized issues in the United States.

The Can We Really Talk? Series is co-sponsored with the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Avocacy and Leadership (IDEAL).

Guest Facilitators: Nu'Rodney Prad, MS, Director of Student Engagement, IDEAL; Tiffenia Archie, Ph.D., Associate Vice President and Chief Inclusion Officer; Valerie Dudley, Ph.D., Director of Multicultural Education and Training, IDEAL
