January 4 - 15, 2021
If this is the first time you are designing and delivering a course from scratch completely online, you should be arming yourself with the information you’ll need to create rich learning experiences for your students. During the first two weeks of January, the CAT will offer a short course on online learning which will assist you in developing better practices for online teaching. Completing this cycle of workshops (via Zoom) will provide the support you need to create a course that works online!
Step 1: Fill out this form to let us know that you intend to complete the short course.
Step 2: Register for and attend the following workshops (via Zoom):
The list above is not a sequence. Participants are free to take the courses in any order that is convenient for them.
Note: Only the CAT workshops listed above are included in the Short Course cycle. While we offer a variety of programming that can assist you with teaching online, only the aforementioned workshops count toward completion of the course. Participants must attend the two required workshops as well as three elective workshops per the instructions above to receive full credit.
Faculty who complete the short course by registering for and attending these workshops (via Zoom) will receive a letter from the CAT certifying their completion of the short course. Faculty who have already attended any of these workshops during Spring or Summer 2020 will receive credit for their attendance retroactively.
Please note that faculty who must complete the short course in time for the spring semester must do so by Friday, January 15 as our short course offerings in preparation for spring will end on this date.
